US Man Shoots Wife Before Killing Himself

A man has killed himself after shooting his wife in the head and then barricaded himself in his home in Phoenix, Arizona, according to US police.
Police found the 50-year-old woman in the front yard of her home with a gunshot wound to her head after the situation was reported to police officers as a domestic violence call.
The woman was conscious and able to communicate with officers. She said her husband had shot her and that he was still inside the house, said police spokesman Sergeant Trent Crump.
The injured woman was hospitalized in serious condition.
Police evacuated the area and sent a robot inside the home to locate the man. The shooter was found dead in the garage with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Every year, thousands of Americans lose their lives to the escalating gun violence in the country.
Many critics blame the notoriously liberal gun control laws in the US for the country’s high rate of gun violence.
