US, the main enemy of Iranian nation: Tehran’s Friday prayers leader

Tehran’s interim Friday prayers leader, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Movahhedi Kermani, has described the United States as “the main enemy of the Iranian nation”.

According to IRIB World Service, addressing a huge crowd of Friday prayers worshippers and the faithful in Tehran, Ayatollah Movahhedi Kermani expressed support for Iran’s nuclear negotiating team, and said if nuclear negotiators observe and stick to Iran’s red lines during the nuclear negotiations, then they will certainly receive the approval of the Leader of the Islamic revolution, as well as the approval of the Iranian people.
Addressing Iran’s nuclear negotiators Ayatollah Movahhedi Kermani said there is no need to think deeply about the (stances taken by the ) United States, since as everyone is aware of, the United States is Iran’s main enemy, and all of us expect the United States to behave as an enemy.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Movahhedi Kermani described Iran as a winner and the United States as a loser, and emphasized that America’s empty slogans, hollow words, and hypocrisy with regards to such issues as “freedom, democracy and human rights” has brought shame and loss of credibility for America.
Tehran’s interim Friday prayers Leader referred to America’s use of nuclear weapons against Japan (at the end of the second world war) and the killing of tens of thousands of Japanese citizens in that attack. He also referred to violation of human rights at US-military-run prisons at Guantanamo, in Cuba, and Abu Ghraib in Iraq, and stressed that the US government has organized coup d’etats in at least 50 countries since the end of the Second World War, and America regularly plots against independent governments and independent nations.
Turning to extremism and terrorism, Ayatollah Movahhedi Kermani emphasized that all the evidence points in the direction of United States as the country which created, nurtured and supported various terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda, ISIL, and Al-Nusra Front.
Tehran’s interim Friday prayers Leader stressed that the hegemonic powers are losing their clout, power and credibility because they have repeatedly used military force and sanctions against independent nations who refuse to tow the US line, because they have supported terrorists throughout the world, because they have launched illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and carried out illegal drone strikes in Pakistan.
Turning to the Zionist regime’s humiliating defeats in its 33-day-war in Lebanon in the summer of 2006, its defeat in its 22-day-military assault on Gaza in 2008 -2009 , in the eight-day-assault on Gaza in 2012 , and most recently in its 50-day-military-offensive in Gaza, Ayatollah Movahhedi Kermani stressed that the victory of the Islamic Resistance shows the hollow nature of the Zionist regime, and also signifies the power and longevity of the Islamic system of government.
