US worrying about removal of int’l consensus on anti-Iran sanctions: expert

Former head of Iran desk in the US State Department John Limbert said Washington is worried about elimination of the international consensus over sanctions against Iran.

Talking to IRNA on Sunday, he said that following the visit to Iran by numerous economic delegations, now the US is worried that the consensus over anti-Iran sanctions may be eliminated.
Referring to the non-diplomatic remarks of a member of the US nuclear team in talks with Iran, he said what Wendy Sherman told the American foreign investors is only of domestic use and reveals the depth of US concerns about the future of the sanctions.
Regarding the point that she made the remarks in a Senate meeting which sought increasing sanctions against Iran, Limbert added, what she said meant that Washington had not touched the structure of the sanctions yet.
