Vast Popular Protest Reported in Northeastern Syria against Foreign, Turkish forces

 

A large number of residents of Hasaka protested against the Turkish army’s military presence, reiterating support for the Syrian Army.

The residents of Hasaka city accompanied with tribesmen and tribal leaders gathered in President Square of Hasaka city and hoisted Syria’s flag, calling for the pullout of foreign troops from Syria.

They also condemned the Turkish government’s threats to attack Syria again.

The protesters chanted slogans against Turkey’s direct support for the terrorist groups, and lauded the Syrian army’s gains against the terrorist groups.

In a relevant development in December, a large number of residents and elites in Hasaka province poured into the streets and condemned presence of Turkish, French and American forces in their country, Syria’s state news agency reported.

SANA reported that a large number of civilians and social and religious characters took to the streets in Hasaka city and in the border town of Qamishli and protested against the Turkish troops’ aggressions, hoisting the Syrian government flag.

The protestors gathered in front of the Justice Palace in Hasaka city, the main Cultural Center in Qamishli and in the village of Jarmaz, condemning Turkish military threats and aggressions against the Syrian nation, SANA went on to say, adding that the protestors vowed that Syria will foil all plots by the army’s strength and the nation’s resistance.

The protestors further condemned deployment of the Turkish troops, the US and French forces in al- Jazeera region in Syria, underlining their support for the Syrian Army in the war on terrorists.
