Secretary General of the Global Assembly of Islamic Awakening Ali-Akbar Velayati said on Saturday that in spite of organizing terrorist groups, the enemies have failed to replace Islamic Awakening movement with a new model.

Velayati made the remarks in his speech to the 9th meeting of the supreme council of the Global Assembly of Islamic Awakening held in the Iraqi capital.

Five year after the beginning of Islamic Awakening movement, the enemies have not been able to materialize their goals to thwart major Islamic movement, Velayati said.

During the meeting, which was attended by political and religious figures from 22 Islamic countries, Velayati said that both Shia and Sunni Muslims are now fighting along with the Army forces in Iraq and Syria to destroy Takfiri groups and have gained big victories.

Velayati rebuked the Saudi government for its non-democratic and problematic nature, saying that the Saudi government is responsible for the crises in the region.

He said that Riyadh government is seeking to establish relations with the Israeli occupying regime.

‘It accounts for stabbing in the back of the Muslims.’
