Velayati: Large turnouts in election show Iranians support for Islamic Revolution

One of Iranian presidential candidates, Ali Akbar Velayati, who formerly served as Foreign Minister, issued a message appreciating large turnouts of Iranian nation in the 11th presidential election.

He also thanked people for giving a positive response to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei’s call and thwarting enemy’s plots with massive turnouts in the voting which showed the Iranian nation’s solidarity.

Velayati also noted his candidacy aimed at serving the Iranian nation’s interests and lessening some problems of the country at internal and international levels.

He also voiced satisfaction that the presidential responsibility was taken from his shoulders, and that he has managed to fulfill his political duty.

Former Iranian Foreign Minister appreciated the parties and fractions which supported him in the election.

Velayati has now won some 6 percent of the votes in the election.
