Assad: None of Initiatives to Be Implemented in Syria without Eradicating Terrorism

“None of the initiatives or ideas can be successfully implemented until terrorism is eradicated and security and stability across the country are restored,” the document said.

It noted that Damascus welcomed any political decisions approved by the Syrian nation, which preserved its unity.

“Within the framework of the general principles of the Syrian authorities any political decisions preserving the country and the unity of its territory and meeting the aspirations of Syrians themselves will be approved by the government,” the document said.

According to the administrative office of the Syrian leader, the statement was made public following remarks by some politicians and public figures about “the readiness of the [Syrian] president to hold snap parliamentary and presidential elections in the country.”
