Majlis (Iranian parliament) Vice-Speaker Seyed Mohammad Hossein Abu Torabi-Fard underlined the Mina tragic incident will be the beginning for developments in the Muslim world.

‘The Mina tragedy that is an exceptional incident in the history of Islam and Mecca, is beginning of developments in the Muslim world,’ Abu Torabi-Fard said on Tuesday night.

He extended his condolences on the sad occasion, and said, ‘Although this tragedy has harmed the Muslims, but it is a beginning for developments in the Muslim world.’

On Wednesday, the Supreme Leader laid emphasis on setting up a fact-finding committee with participation of Muslim counties, including Iran, to investigate the Mina tragedy.

‘The slightest disrespect towards tens of thousands of Iranian Hajj pilgrims in Mecca and Medina and not fulfilling their duties concerning the transfer of the bodies of the dead pilgrims will result in Iran’s harsh and crushing response,’ Ayatollah Khamenei said.

A sum of 64,000 Iranians went on Hajj pilgrimage this year.

On September 24, 465 Iranian pilgrims were killed in stampede caused by the Saudi officials’ incapability and mismanagement and during the stoning of the devil ritual in Mina, Mecca.

Over 4,000 pilgrims from different countries also lost their lives in Mina.
