Video- 2nd Aerospace Design Competition underway in Tehran

Vertical flights design and construction, hovercraft, remote control balloon and airship, rocket with recycled payload, and gliders. In a nutshell, these are the main categories in which around 500 Iranian students are competing for the top prize at the Sharif University of Technology.

According to the organizers of the Second Aerospace Design Competition, the two-day event seeks to promote scientific designs and involve students in the field of aerospace; develop the culture of engineering design and construction in schools, promote creativity and team work, and create a competitive atmosphere among students nationwide.

Iran is one of the founding members of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, which was set up in 1958. The country plans to organize next year the 1st Asia-Pacific Satellite Balloon Design Competition.
