The IRGC and Bassij military drills seek to improve coordination among Iran’s defensive systems and deterrent power, achieve military objectives and identify points of weakness and strength. That according to commander of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Mohammad-Ali Jafari.

While addressing a military parade in the capital Tehran, Jafari also told Press TV that the popular uprisings in the Arab world have heralded a new era in the Middle East and North Africa.

The IRGC commander dismissed Western claims that the United States and Israel are playing a part in the current developments, or that they have what it takes to attack Iran.

According to Commander Jafari, the priorities that have animated American regional policy for several decades – advancing the so-called Arab-israeli peace process, and protecting US allies – is now much more challenging to advance. Without lifting a finger, he said, Iran has seen US capabilities weaken across the region.
