Video-OWS planning for next stages of protest

The scene isn’t what you might expect from Occupy Wall Street.

There’s no chanting — no screaming — no outrage at arrests — no bloody fights with police.
Occupy Wall Street is meeting in groups — talking — sharing — planning its next moves.

The approximately 100 groups associated also talk about things like music — meditation — and the environment — which will have a massive day of action in conjuntion with the upcoming United Nations’ Rio plus 20 environmental conference.

That day is slated for June 22nd — the day after the giant Occupy World Summit is to occur at all Occupy sites around the world on June 21st.

Mark your calendars.
Across the atrium — another meeting was taking place with veteran activist Allan Nairn — who says that Occupy spells the end of thirty years of near non-activity on social justice in the US.

The planning — talking — and organizing continues for Occupy every day in the atrium — with General Assembly and committee meetings — all of it organized online.
Retired Philadelphia police captain Ray Lewis is there — and he’s feeling the repercussions of his involvement in the protest movement.

Lewis says that he’s received two letters from police and union officials — both threatening the pension he’s worked decades for — and all — just for his choice to get involved in the protest.
