The Iraqi army, backed by volunteer forces, continued to make more gains in their major offensive against the ISIL terrorists in Anbar province on Wednesday, and managed to push back the Takfiri group from different positions in the Western province.
According to reports, the army troops and the volunteer fighters made major advances in the area of Albu Faraj, North of Ramadi, and managed to win control over the district after flushing out large groups of militants.

Earlier, the army troops intensified their offensive against the Takfiri group in the same area, and claimed the lives of more than 60 terrorists.

Brigadier General Abdul Amir al-Khazraji said, “More than 60 terrorists were killed and 4 armored vehicles were destroyed in clashes in the area of Albu Faraj.”

The Iraqi army and popular fighters have started a major offensive against the ISIL terrorists in Anbar to liberate the Western province from the control of the Takfiri group.

The army troops, backed by volunteer forces, launched a huge operation against the ISIL in the Western province of Anbar on April 8 to liberate areas under the control of the terrorist group.

The Iraqi forces began their operation in the East of Ramadi. They have so far managed to retake several areas from the terrorist group.

Also on March 31, the Iraqi army, backed by Shiite and Sunni volunteer forces, made a final push against the ISIL terrorists in Tikrit, and managed to fully liberate the Northern city from the control of the Takfiri group.

Earlier, Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi announced that his country’s forces are very near to winning back full control over Tikrit, adding that Mosul and Al-Anbar will be the next stop.

“The Iraqi troops are in the final battles for retaking control of Tikrit in Salahuddin province,” the Iraqi prime minister said.

Al-Abadi underlined that the Iraqi troops will try to regain control of Mosul and Al-Anbar in the next stage of their operations after Tikrit.
