Video- Thousands of Gazans protest in support of Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike


Thousands of people came out onto the streets in Gaza city to express support for the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and their open-ended hunger strike.

During a Press conference, Hamas movement hailed the Palestinian prisoners and said Zionist Israel is fully responsible for the safety of the prisoners.

Fatah officials praised the Palestinian prisoners for their role in national reconciliation efforts.

According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, there are over 6,000 prisoners in Israeli jails. Special units of Zionist Israeli forces on Saturday carried out several surprise raids on some Israeli prisons to curb the protests by Palestinians prisoners.

The prisoners went on hunger strike last Wednesday to protest what they described as an escalating series of punitive measures by the Israel Prison Service (IPS).
International activist also attended the protests in solidarity with the prisoners.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, Israeli forces arrested 650 Palestinians last month alone, including three women and a girl.

According to human rights groups, in over four decades of illegal Zionist Israeli military occupation, at least 650,000, Palestinians from all walks of life have been illegally detained by Zionist Israel.
