Vital bridge captured by Iraqi forces as they inch closer to Mosul’s Old City

Mosul’s Old City is coming further into the sights of Iraqi forces as they liberated a main bridge from ISIS that leads to this part of the city on Monday.

The liberated al-Hurriya Bridge is one of five bridges that connects both sides of Mosul which is divided by the Tigris River.

This capture will prove to be devastating to ISIS as more Iraqi forces can pour into Western Mosul, with new supply lines opened.

Mosul fell to the terrorist group in 2014 and it took until January this year for the Iraqi forces to liberate the eastern portions of the city.
