Weak tie among Islamic sects strengthens Takfiris

Chancellor of Iran’s Islamic Sects University said lack of strong relations among Islamic schools of thought leads to the enhancement of Takfiri ideologies. Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Mobaleghi, who was recently in Egypt to attend a conference on confronting terrorism and extremism, made the remark in an interview with Egypt’s al-Wasat daily, adding that the spread of Takfiri ideas could greatly harm Islamic sects and the Arab world. He urged Muslim scholars and thinkers to make more efforts to tackle the Takfiri ideologies.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mobaleghi also urged for boosting Islamic moderation to pave the way for greater peaceful coexistence among Islamic schools of thought. Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian cleric hailed cooperation between the Islamic Sects University and Muslim world’s academic centers, especially Egypt’s Al-Azhar University.He went on to say that Iran and Egypt are two major Muslim countries that can work together to strengthen unity in the Muslim Ummah.
