West has no options left

The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council says the Western powers have no options left but to recognize the rights of independent nations.

SNSC Saeed Jalili made the remarks in a meeting with Mustafa Ismail, an aide to Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, in Tehran on Sunday, IRNA reported.

The Iranian official noted that new political calculations are taking shape in the modern world in regard to the resistance of free nations against the avarice of the arrogant powers, and specifically the United States.

“Today every country that moves on the path of resistance is witnessing an increase in its national might. We praise Sudan’s one-decade resistance,” he said in the meeting.

The top advisor to the Sudanese president stated that Khartoum is interested in improving bilateral ties, saying that the US and Israeli interference in Sudanese national affairs is the main cause of insecurity and instability in southern and western Sudan.

He also expressed gratitude for the Islamic Republic’s diplomacy in the African continent, particularly Iran’s support for the Sudanese nation.

Earlier in the day, Ismail also held talks with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.

In the meeting, President Ahmadinejad said that the enemies do not like to see any independent nation make progress on the political, economic, and cultural fronts.

The global hegemons want the world’s nations to always remain impoverished, weak, and under domination, and seek to put the brakes on the development and progress of independent nations, the Iranian president added.

He went on to say that the global hegemons are on the verge of decline, adding that the arrogant powers are facing numerous problems, even in their own countries, and are unable to solve them.

Under a 2005 peace pact that ended decades of civil strife, Africa’s largest country agreed to hold a referendum on the independence of the South in January 2011.

Sudan has announced November 14 as the starting date for voter registration in the referendum.
