West miscalculation will mar Iran talks

RI’s top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili has warned that any miscalculation by the West in its upcoming talks with Tehran will thwart the success of the negotiations.
“We expect measures [by the West] to gain the trust of the Iranian nation in Baghdad,” Jalili, who is also the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), said in a meeting with visiting former French Socialist Prime Minister Michel Rocard in Tehran on Sunday.

Jalili further highlighted Iran’s logical stance on talks and cooperation, adding: “The time for pressure tactics is over.”

For his part, Rocard said the recent talks in Istanbul were a step forward and expressed hope that the talks in Baghdad will pick up on the agreements reached in Istanbul so that both sides would reach an understanding.

The former French prime minister stressed that success in the upcoming talks would be beneficial to all, including French people.
