Western countries and NATO have set up the system in Turkey to protect the Zionist regime

Iran Foreign Ministry Spokesman stated that the installation of the Patriot missile system in Turkish soil is in line with defending Israel.
In an interview with Al-Manar news channel, Ramin Mehmanparast, Islamic Republic of Iran’s Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs discussed the installation of NATO missile defense system in Turkish soil.

“In my recent visit to Turkey, I had talks with Turkish officials. They believed that military confrontation is likely between Turkey and Syria, and that the system is launched on Turkish soil to protect the country from Syrian missiles,” he said.

“But Iran believes that Western countries and NATO have set up the system in Turkey to protect the Zionist regime; so that in the case of an Israeli adventurism against Iran and Iran’s reaction, Western countries would use the missile system to defend Israel,” he added.

Spokesman of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs continued “Turkey will engage in no military operation against Iran, and it will not allow its airspace to be used against the Islamic Republic of Iran; but Iran believes that the missile defense system and the Patriot missiles are not in Turkish hands and Western countries preside over the system.”
