Western Powers-backed Gunmen Arrested in Eastern Ghota, Infiltration Attempt from Lebanon Foiled, Explosives Dismantled in Idleb

The competent authorities on Saturday arrested a number of gunmen, who have committed various crimes, in Eastern Ghota in Damascus Countryside in cooperation with the inhabitants.

SANA reporter cited an official source as saying that an amount of mines and explosive were seized.

Competent authorities today foiled an armed terrorist group’s attempt to infiltrate from Lebanon into Syria near the border town of Ba’youn in Talkalakh, Homs countryside.

SANA reporter learned that clashes erupted with the terrorists led to the killing of a number of the group while others have fled to the Lebanese lands.
Weapons including Doshka machine gun, rifles, explosives and bombs were confiscated. Baba Amro in Homs, the authorities discovered a warehouse for weapons, seizing rifles, machine guns, explosives, hand-made bombs and a big quantity of ammunitions.

Authorities seized a car loaded with various weapons in Bab al-Hawa neighborhood in Idleb countryside.

SANAreporter said the authorities tracked down the car as it did not stop at a checkpoint in Bab al-Hawa neighborhood, pointing out that the driver fired at the authorities leading to clashes which resulted in his death.

Several machine guns in addition to wireless devices, night-vision scopes and sniper ammunition were found in the car.

Engineering Units Dismantle Explosives in Idleb Countryside

Engineering units dismantled two explosive devices rigged for remote detonation which were planted by terrorist groups in Idleb governorate.

The first device had a yield of 40 kilograms and was planted at the western entrance of the town of Ariha, while the second had a yield of 50 kilograms and was planted near Maartamsrin roundabout.

Two explosive devices with yields ranging between 35 and 50 kilograms were detonated on the Idleb-Harem road near the Central Prison without causing any damage.

Security and Stability Restored in al-Madiq Castle, Weapons Confiscated in Homs

Security and stability were restored to the town of al-Madiq Castle in Hama after the authorities rid it of armed terrorist groups that had been terrorizing locals, erecting roadblocks and barricades, and vandalizing public and private property.

The locals said that the terrorist had been holding him hostage, preventing them from moving around and going to work, in addition to using them as human shields, preventing students from going to school, and isolating the area.

In Homs city, the authorities raided a three-stories building in Juret al-Arayes neighborhood which an armed terrorist group had been using as a hideout, confiscating a large amount of weapons in ammo, some of which made in Israel while others were US-made.

The confiscated weapons include automatic rifles, sniper rifles and machineguns, in addition to magazines, satchels, advanced communication devices, explosives, and medical equipment and supplies stolen by the terrorists.

In Aleppo city, a terrorist group detonated an explosive device on Friday evening in al-Marje neighborhood while law-enforcement forces were trying to dismantle it and evacuate citizens from the vicinity.

The explosion injured 17 civilians and members of law-enforcement forces, but there were no casualties or ensuing shooting, contrary to the allegations of some media outlets.
