World is in dire need of basic changes

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Monday that the world is in dire need of basic changes, something which requires collective cooperation of all countries.

Ahmadinejad made the remarks prior to his departure for Ankara, Turkey, Monday to attend the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) to start in the Turkish capital on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters, he said Iran is to play an active role in CICA conference.

The president’s visit takes place upon official invitation of his Turkish counterpart.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is to express its views and stands in the conference, he said.

President Ahmadinejad is to confer with some high ranking officials from different countries and attend a press conference during his stay in Turkey.
