WPC, WFDY Stress Solidarity with Syria in facing Plots and Schemes of Imperialist Powers Targeting It

President of the World Peace Council, Maria Socorro Gomes, on Monday stressed WPC’s solidarity with the Syrian people against the plots and schemes of the imperialist powers targeting Syria.

The remarks came During a meeting between the (WPC), the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) and a number of student associates at Tishreen University in Lattakia.

Gomes added that the threats posed by the imperialist countries could cause future international crises as these powers are seeking to fragment the region in a way that enables them from solving their economic problems.

She outlined that the whole world should realize the reality of this fierce attack against the Syrian leadership and people, adding that “We express our unlimited support to the Syrian people in the face of the groups which are working for the USA, France, Qatar and Israel.”

President of the (WFDY), Demetris Palmyris, stressed that the visit expresses the Federation’s support to Syria in the face of foreign interference attempts.

For his part, Venezuelan MP and Head of the Syrian-Venezuelan Parliamentary Friendship Committee Jull Jabbour, said that “33 Representatives from 24 countries are here today in Syria to express solidarity with the Syrian people in the face of this heinous campaign perpetrated by the imperialist powers.”

Representative of the Portuguese Communist Youth in the Federation, Tiago Vieira, said that “We know that the Syrians took their right stance from the beginning of this crisis despite the provocative media campaigns. We believe in Syria’s ability to overcome this crisis.”

Mustafa Ulker, Head of the Turkish Youth Union, said “Unfortunately, our current government is involved in the ‘New Middle East’ project. The Justice and Development Party (AKP) is making Turkey a platform to attack the Middle East and is working on igniting sedition with Syria through 40 media channels that are broadcasting false and fabricated reports on Syria.”
