The Saudi-led coalition intensified its bombing of Yemen since Riyadh’s Tuesday declaration that military operations against Yemen have ended, claiming the lives of more civilians.
Saudi-led coalition fighter jets continued to target many areas across Yemen on Wednesday, despite Riyadh’s Tuesday declaration that it has ended military operations against the Southern neighbor.

The Saudi warplanes resumed their air raids on Yemen on Wednesday, hitting the central prison in Taiz city, while reports from Sana’a and Saada said heavy bombings by the Saudi-led coalition continued since Wednesday morning.

The Saudi border guards also fired mortar shells and rockets at the Northern Yemeni villages hours after their country declared end of aggression on Yemen.

According to al-Mayadeen television, Saudi border guards fired rockets and mortar shells at the Northern Yemeni villages in Saada governorate.

The Saudi warplanes also hit the Faj Attan district in the capital, Sana’a, Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition conducted heavy air raids on Saada governorate, bombing al-Manarzaleh and al-Malahiz areas.

Also, witnesses said warships of the Saudi-coalition forces fired rockets and missiles at several areas in the Yemeni city of Aden.

Eye-witnesses said they saw American warships firing at Aden, but an army officer deployed in the city said the vessels were “Egyptian navy”.

The Saudi fighter jets also hit many areas in al-Waht town Northwest of Aden on Wednesday.

Saudi air strikes were also reported in the Yemeni city of Lahij on the same day.

According to FNA dispatches, tens of people have been killed and many more wounded in the Saudis’ continued airstrikes across the war-stricken country on Wednesday.

Meantime, hundreds of thousands of Yemeni people showed up in the streets of the capital, Sana’a, on Wednesday afternoon to protest against the Saudi-led airstrikes that have left thousands killed and injured.

The Yemeni protesters demonstrated against the Saudi-led coalition air raids on their country, chanting slogans against US, Israel and the Al Saud royal family.

The also said that Saudi Arabia is a tool and agent of US and Israel.

On Thursday, the Saudi-led coalition warplanes conducted air strikes on the Yemeni army’s Brigade 312 Base in Kowfal in the city of Ma’rib hours after the army and Ansarullah fighters recaptured the base from the Saudi-backed militants.

According to the Arabic-language Al-Mayadeen television, Saudi air raids hit Brigade 312 Base in Kowfal in the city of Ma’rib.

Earlier reports said that the Yemeni army and popular committees managed to regain control of Brigade 312 base on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Saudi fighter jets conducted 5 air strikes on an army base in the Yemeni city of Taiz that had been recaptured by the Yemeni forces after heavy clashes with loyalists to fugitive president Mansour Hadi. Reports said that flames towered over the area.

Ansarullah Revolutionaries regained control of the army base on Wednesday. The base had been seized by loyalists to fugitive president Mansour Hadi.

Also on Thursday, coalition air strikes hit the Yemeni governorates of Sana’a and Ibb, despite Riyadh.

Meanwhile, the Saudi airstrikes bombed Yarim town in Ibb, where a higher education institute was targeted.

Meantime, heavy fighting erupted between the Yemeni army troops and loyalists to fugitive president Mansour Hadi in various areas in the governorate of Aden on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Saudi fighter jets intercepted two Iranian airplanes carrying humanitarian aids from entering Yemen’s airspace on Thursday and Friday.

The Iranian foreign ministry summoned the Saudi charge d’affaires in Tehran on Friday to protest against the Arab country’s continued blocking of Iran’s cargo planes carrying humanitarian and medical aid to Yemen.

In the absence of the Saudi ambassador to Iran, the country’s chargé d’affaires was summoned to the foreign ministry after the Saudi warplanes prevented the cargo planes of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), carrying pharmaceutical aids and also the wounded Yemenis who have been treated (in Iran), from entering Yemen’s airspace despite obtaining the needed permissions from Saudi Arabia.

An Iranian foreign ministry diplomat said that the IRCS had obtained the needed permissions for Oman-Yemen flights and sent its airplanes carrying pharmaceutical aid and the treated wounded Yemenis to Yemen over the past two days, but unfortunately each time the Saudi warplanes approached the Iranian cargo plane and forced them to return.

On Friday afternoon, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a telephone conversation with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Peter Maurer blasted Saudi Arabia for blocking Iran’s humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people.

The Iranian deputy foreign minister, meantime, called on ICRC president to take more serious measures to facilitate dispatch of medial and humanitarian aid to Yemen.

Amir Abdollahian also voiced Iran’s readiness to treat more wounded Yemenis either in Iran or in Yemen.

Also on Friday, Saudi fighter jets targeted Yemen’s port of Aden. The Saudi airstrikes on Aden and its airport killed and injured scores of civilians, witnesses said.
The airstrikes were simultaneous with heavy clashes between the Yemeni army and pro-Saudi forces in the towns of Sa’ad, Crater and Khormakser near Aden.

Later on Friday, Saudi fighter jets struck the car of a newly wed couple and a trail of other cars following them in Ibb province in Southern Yemen, killing and injuring a number of people.

The Saudi warplanes targeted the caravan in Demmet city in Ibb province, the Yemeni Al-Massyra TV reported on Friday.

It said that several civilians were killed and many others were injured during the attack.

The Saudi-led airstrikes have mostly targeted civilians, including children and women, as well as Yemen’s infrastructures.

Earlier, the Saudi-led coalition fighter jets targeted al-Hijla region in the Western part of Saada.

The coalition warplanes raided several targets in the al-Hijla region in the Northern province of Saada, bordering Saudi Arabia.

Saudi fighter jets also bombed the Yemeni governorate of al-Dalea on Friday, and claimed the lives of 7 civilians.

Meanwhile, 6 civilians were killed in Saudi air strikes on various areas in the Yemeni city of Taiz on Friday.

According to FNA dispatches, the monarchy’s air raids targeted residential areas in al-Houta city in Lahij province late on Friday and left large groups of people dead and injured.

On Saturday, Saudi warplanes pounded residential areas in Hajjah province and left at least two people dead and 9 others injured.

The Saudi kingdom’s continued its airstrikes on early Saturday and hit the city of Harad in Hajjah province. The Attacks claimed the lives of over 2 civilians.

Also on Saturday, Saudi artillery shelled several areas in Yemen’s Northern city of Sa’ada, killing and injuring dozens of civilians.

Several areas in the Yemeni border district of Dhahir in Sa’ada were heavily pounded by the Saudi artillery. Dozens of people lost their lives.

On Tuesday, Riyadh declared that it stopped bombing Yemen, adding that the Saudi-led coalition operations are now entering a political phase, but the latest reports from different Yemeni cities said that the airstrikes are still underway.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for the last 31 days in a move to restore power to fugitive President Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has claimed the lives of 2,915 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children. The attacks have also left thousands of people injured.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
