The Yemeni army and popular forces repelled an attack by the Saudi-led forces on a strategic region in Ta’iz province on Sunday.

The Saudi forces sustained heavy losses and casualties in the Yemeni forces’ counterattack in Sa’abat region in Ta’iz province.

Meantime, the Yemeni army and popular forces destroyed the armored vehicles of the Saudi troops in the Southern part of Kahboub region in Lahij province.

The Saudi fighter jets also violated the ceasefire across Yemen over the past 24 hours.

In Ta’iz province, the Saudi warplanes attacked the town of Zobab and al-Mukha region, killing several civilians and injuring many others. Also, the Saudi artillery pounded al-Wazeyeh region.

In Ma’rib province, the Saudi fighter jets attacked the people’s vehicles in Harib al-Qaramish region which resulted in death of five civilians.

The Saudi artillery unit also pounded Sirwah region and killed several civilians. However, several Saudi forces were killed in clashes with the Yemeni forces while they were trying to advance towards Hilan mountain.

In al-Jawf province, the Saudi forces attacked three residential areas in al-Qayr region.

Earlier on Sunday, the Yemeni army and popular forces targeted the military positions of the forces loyal to former fugitive president Mansour Hadi in Ma’rib province with a ballistic missile, killing over two dozen militias, including a senior commander.

A pro-Hadi military commander and 25 others militias were killed in the Yemeni ballistic missile strike on strategic Farza 9 military base in Ma’rib province, the Yemeni defense ministry announced.

The defense ministry also said that tens of other pro-Hadi militias were also injured in the Yemeni missile strike on Farza 9 military base.

The Yemeni missile attack came in retaliation for the Saudi airstrikes on Yemen’s civilians.

The Sunday attack was the second ballistic missile attack by the Yemeni forces over the past 24 others.

In a relevant development on Saturday, the Yemeni army targeted the Saudi-led forces’ convoy with a ballistic missile near Farza 9 military base.

The Saudi-led forces sustained heavy casualties as the Yemeni missile precisely struck their military convoy.

There were no immediate reports on the exact number of casualties, but eyewitnesses confirmed that the missile landed precisely on the convoy.

Also on Saturday, the Yemeni army and popular forces seized back the Saudi-led forces’ last military base near the strategic Bab al-Mandeb Strait.

The Yemeni forces are now in full control of Koufel military base which is located in Sirwah region in Ma’rib province after purging all the Saudi forces from the base.

The Yemeni army and Ansarullah fighters also recaptured the strategic Kahboub mountain overlooking the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.

The advances by the Yemeni forces came as the Saudi fighter jets ignored the ceasefire and attacked several cities across Yemen, killing several Yemeni civilians, including women and children.

In late June, a Yemeni missile strike hit a Saudi-led coalition military base in Asir province where Israel’s military experts are stationed.

The Khamis Mushait air base in Asir province came under Yemen’s Qaher-I ballistic missile.

Yemen has seen almost daily military attacks by Saudi Arabia since late March 2015, with internal sources putting the toll from the bloody aggression at about 9,800. The Saudi military aggression was launched to restore power to Hadi, who is a staunch ally of Riyadh.
