Several Saudi army men and mercenaries as well as tens of al-Qaeda terrorists were killed and many others taken captive in a joint military operation of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement and army forces in Aden.

Yemeni sources said that over 80 al-Qaeda terrorists and Saudi mercenaries were held captive in Aden and many others, including 7 Pakistani and 2 UAE militants were killed.

The Yemeni defense ministry announced that several UAE officers were also killed during the joint operations of the army’s artillery forces and popular committees in al-Towahi city, South of Aden province.

The clashes between the Ansarullah fighters and the Saudi-backed al-Qaeda terrorists as well as the pro-Hadi militias continue in the Southern parts of the country as Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 120 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

The Monarchy’s attacks have so far claimed the lives of at least 5,178 civilians, mostly women and children.
