Yemeni protesters decry Israel war on Gaza

374727_Yemen-rally-GazaThousands of people have flooded the streets in the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, to protest against the Israeli regime’s ongoing massacre of Palestinians in the blockaded Gaza Strip, Press TV reports.

On Saturday, the protesters chanted slogans in support of the armed Palestinian resistance against Israel, demanding that the resistance continue until the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip is over.

Some demonstrators were dressed in the uniforms of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and carried cardboard models of rockets fired by the Palestinian resistance fighters at Israel.

“We came out to support our brothers in Gaza. We ask God to grant them victory. We also call on Arab brothers to unite so we can get rid of the Zionist enemy, who kills women and children,” a demonstrator told Press TV.

The rally goers also slammed some regional leaders for failing to condemn Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip.

Some protesters even said that certain regional powers are aiding what they described as Israel’s agenda to exterminate the Palestinian resistance.

“Israel, which is an occupying regime, is allowed to have a navy, airports and weapons but Palestinians who are the rightful owners of those lands cannot have any of these. Where is the democracy which the West, especially the US, advocates?” Amat al-Rahman Mayas, a female activist, said in the pro-Palestinian march.

The Israeli war on the Gaza Strip began on July 8. According to Palestinian health officials, the overall Palestinian death toll from the brutal Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has reached 1,915, with most of the fatalities being civilians. Nearly 10,000 others have also been wounded in the attacks.

Latest tallies show that at least 450 Palestinian children have so far lost their lives in the Israeli attacks against the impoverished Gaza Strip. Children also make up almost one-third of the injured.
