Yemen’s Ansarullah Fighters Open Multiple Fronts against Saudi-Backed Militants

The Ansarullah fighters have opened five fronts against Saudi-backed militants in several Yemeni provinces as they are pressing ahead with their campaign to drive out militants loyal to fugitive President Mansour Hadi and al-Qaeda elements despite heavy aerial bombardments by Riyadh.

The popular fighters opened front lines against the Saudi-backed elements in the provinces of Aden, Hajja, Abyan, Ad Dali’, and Shabwah on Tuesday after they made major gains and advances in several battlefields in recent days.

Earlier today, the Ansarullah fighters accomplished victory in the Southern city of Ta’izz after seizing back control over the strategic city from the Saudi-backed terrorists and pro-Hadi militants.

The popular fighters struck a heavy blow at the Saudi-backed militants on Tuesday in the country’s Southern areas, and succeeded in regaining full control over the strategic city.

The Ansarullah fighters and the army troops have made major advances in their fight against the terrorists across Aden in recent days, and are purging the strategic cities of Aden and Ta’izz of Saudi-backed elements.

The clashes between the popular Ansarullah and the Saudi-backed loyalists of the fugitive president continue in the Southern parts of the country as Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 13 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 906 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

Five Persian Gulf States — Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait — and Egypt that are also assisted by Israel and backed by the US declared war on Yemen in a joint statement issued on March 26.

US President Barack Obama authorized the provision of logistical and intelligence support to the military operations, National Security Council Spokesperson Bernadette Meehan said late on March 25.

She added that while US forces were not taking direct military action in Yemen, Washington was establishing a Joint Planning Cell with Saudi Arabia to coordinate US military and intelligence support.
