Zarif delivers Rouhani’s invitation message to UAE Emir

Iran’s FM has delivered president’s invitation to visit Iran to UAE Emir.

Mehr News reported that Mohammad Javad Zarif visited Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the UAE Emir. “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always acted for the benefit of neighbors in the region,” said Zarif, emphasizing on the improving stability, peace, and moderation.

Zarif delivered Hassan Rouhani’s sincere regards to the UAE Emir and also the president’s invitation to visit Tehran to him.

Zarif also pointed to priority of relations with the neighboring countries in Iranian foreign policy. “the Islamic republic of Iran highly appreciates relations with UAE, and we hope that our potentials for bilateral relations be improved through accurately evaluating the opportunities,” said Zarif, emphasizing that “the Islamic Republic of Iran calls for the rule of moderation and rationality in international relations, and “we believe that stability and security depend on political solutions rather than military options.”

The foreign minister also expressed hope that the cooperation by UAE help to mould political approaches in a joint effort to solve the regional issues.

The UAE Emir also asked Zarif to deliver his high and warm regards to president Rouhani and emphasized that the UAE was willing for any cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran. “The Islamic Republic of Iran is the closest friend and an important country,” said Emir.

He also emphasized on increased bilateral contacts to boost regional and international common initiatives. “I have called all UAE officials and related authorities to do everything necessary to improve relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” added Emir.

The extremism and consequent threats to the region was a major issue in the meeting agenda, where Zarif emphasized on the necessity of a collective will for confronting the extremism.

Both sides agreed to boost bilateral ties in issues of interest, including political, cultural and social issues and cooperation in international and regional initiatives.

The meeting was also attended by UAE foreign minister, head of Audit Organization, and governor of eastern regions of UAE.
