Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif termed January 16, 2016 as a “good day” for Iran, the region and the whole world.

Talking to reporters upon his arrival here Saturday morning, he said the day of the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is a good one for the Iranian nation as it will put an end to all those unfair resolutions by the United Nations Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and officially annul them.

He said it will also mark the end of the sanctions imposed on Iran for its peaceful nuclear program.

This is a good day for the regional countries as well, the Iranian foreign minister stressed, as it gets the region free of all concerns about the probability of an unjustifiable conflict.

He said the region could experience vigilant and peace-loving measures far from effects of the negative propaganda underway so long against Iran’s nuclear program.

What is going to happen today is a good proof to the fact that major problems in the world could be tackled through dialogue not threats, pressures and sanctions, Zarif added.

The Iranian foreign minister further noted that Tehran is serious about full implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and wants everyone to jointly follow this view.

He said Iran will monitor the quality of the implementation of the deal by various countries.

Of course, Zarif added, logic dictates that countries which have spent a long time on preparing the document will not take any action to damage it.

Zarif arrived here Saturday to discuss progress towards final implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi as well as Spokesman of the AEOI Behrouz Kamalvandi are accompanying Zarif during his Vienna visit.
