Zionist İsraeli Cmdr. Iran not pursuing nuclear weapons

Israel’s Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Benny Gantz says he does not believe Iran will pursue nuclear weapons after years of efforts made by Tel Aviv and its allies to convince the world otherwise.

In an interview with the Israeli daily Ha’aretz, published on Wednesday, Gantz described Iran’s leadership as “very rational” who would not make such a decision.

Gantz remark echoes a “highly classified” assessment by 16 US intelligence agencies confirming that Tehran was not seeking to build nuclear weapons.

The report, which was published in the Los Angeles Times on February 23, had been circulated among US policymakers early last year.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has never found any evidence of diversion in Iran’s civilian nuclear energy program during its numerous inspections of the country’s facilities.

This is while Israel, believed to be the sole possessor of the nuclear weapons in the Middle East, has for years accused Iran of seeking a nuclear weapon and threatened the country with an attack on its nuclear installations.

Gantz remarks come at a time when Iran and the P5+1 — Britain, China, France, Russia and the US plus Germany — have resumed their negotiations after a 15-month hiatus.

After wrapping up their first round of talks in the Turkish city of Istanbul on April 14, both sides hailed the negotiations as “successful and constructive.”

The second round of the talks is due to begin in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on May 23.
