Zionist Israeli forces have arrested several Palestinian farmers, including a woman and her 18-month-old infant, in the West Bank city of al-Khalil (Hebron).

According to a video posted online on Saturday, Israeli soldiers attacked a group of Palestinian farmers in Um El-Arayes in South al-Khalil Hills as they tried to cultivate their lands.

The Israeli military has declared the area a closed military zone and denies Palestinians access to their lands.

Witnesses say Israeli soldiers made the arrests as soon as they arrived and did not give time to the Palestinians, who were accompanied by a number of pro-Palestinian activists, to clear the scene.

At least 15 people were arrested.

This comes while four Palestinians were also arrested in the same area on Friday. The nineteen arrestees included four women, three minors and an elderly man in his 80s.

The mother, Reema, and daughter are reported to have spent the night in custody.

Israeli troops have demolished several Palestinian villages in South al-Khalil Hills over the past months as part of Tel Aviv’s policy to expel Palestinians from the region.
