Zionist Israeli forces shoot, injure three Palestinians in Gaza

Israeli forces have shot and wounded three Palestinians near the town of Beit Hanoun in the besieged Gaza Strip, Press TV reports.

The incident took place on Thursday after Israeli troops opened fire on the Palestinian young men collecting stones in the area for construction.

Two of the Palestinians were shot in the leg while the other shot in his shoulder.

The incident took place in the so-called buffer zone, established by the Tel Aviv regime along the border with the Gaza Strip in 2008 for alleged security reasons.

The zone officially extends 300 meters into Gaza territory, but reports indicate that the Israeli regime is in effect forcing a much larger no-go zone.

Earlier on Thursday, Israeli forces also fired an artillery shell at farmers in the so-called no-go zone area. The farmers were then forced to leave their farms.

Israeli troops target Palestinian civilians, including children wandering close to the border fence, farmers and scrap metal collectors trying to make ends meet.

The Gaza Strip has long been suffering under an all-out land, aerial, and naval blockade imposed by the Israeli regime.

The siege has had a disastrous impact on the humanitarian and economic situation in the impoverished enclave, turning the territory into the world’s largest open-air prison.

The apartheid regime of Israel denies about 1.7 million people in Gaza their basic rights, such as freedom of movement, jobs that pay proper wages and adequate healthcare and education.
