Zionist Israeli jets strike Gaza tunnel

Israeli jets have fired missiles at a Gaza tunnel and an abandoned airport near Gaza’s border with Egypt causing damage but no casualties, Hamas security forces say.

Israeli F-16 warplanes, on Sunday evening, unleashed several missiles targeting the tunnels in Al-Jaradat area southeast of Rafah city bordering Egypt.

The jets also struck the inoperative Gaza airport, which stopped flights at the beginning of the second Palestinian intifada, or uprising, in late September 2000.

Medical sources said that no casualties were reported in either of the air raids.

The impoverished territory is largely relying on tunnels running under its border with Egypt for basic supplies such as food and fuel. The tunnels were dug because of the tight Israeli and Egyptian siege on the territory.

More than 130 Palestinians have died in cave-ins and Israeli attacks on the tunnels.
