Zionist Obama proves more brutal than Bush, Cheney

An analyst says the illusion that Nobel peace prize winner President Obama or his Democratic Party are somehow better, more peaceful or progressive is overshadowing the truth of Washington’s deadly drone policy.

The comment comes as the comment comes as a group of US activists plan to launch a series of protests in April to generate a public uprising across the country against the government’s deadly drone policy.

The planned protests, dubbed April Days of Action, will begin on April 3 with a rally in New York and will spread nationwide, the website of the British newspaper Guardian reported on Wednesday.

Anti-drones activists plan to stage protest rallies near military bases, universities, and companies involved in President Barack Obama’s policy of targeted killings.

Press TV has conducted an interview with author and journalist Paul Street in Iowa to further discuss the issue. What follows is an approximate transcription of the interview.

Press TV: Mr. Street, do you see this movement growing and forcing President Obama to change such a policy, his drone policy that is?

Street: I hope it forces in a change; I can’t promise that it will but without a movement, without grassroots action there will be no change.

That’s how we change electing presidents who pretend to be peaceful; who pretend to be progressive; who pretend to be anti-war and then who in fact escalate the drone weapons; it has increased dramatically under Obama.

Far more attacks and far more people were killed by Obama than anything [former US presidents] Dick Cheney and George W. Bush ever did with drones.

So this is a good beginning. It’s very important that the activists I support them in doing this are targeting the corporations that manufacture these things. But also I might add the universities that provide the research, that enable these drones in the first place.

It’s very important to remember that Dwight Eisenhower the American President originally referred not just to the military industrial complex but to the military industrial educational complex.

Universities play a very critical rule in America’s military empire and it’s wonderful that these protesters are thinking of the university role as well.

Press TV: Indeed why do you think international organizations have remained silent on this issue?

Street: Well, I’m afraid there’s still this sort of wrong hangover of Obama the Nobel peace prize winner; there’s this illusion about American political culture that Democratic Party is somehow better, or more peaceful or more progressive that Obama, somehow it’s different; there is a reluctance to tell the truth and face the realities this is the empire’s new clothes.

This is the reprehending project. This is simply another phase of American … I think that has a lot to do with it. There is still this kind of intoxication that really has to go and there’s reluctance to the question of American power in general that’s a bit longstanding.
