Zionist Regime Forces Disperse Protests in Kafr Qaddum

Dozens suffered from excessive tear gas inhalation as Israeli forces attacked the protest in the Northern West Bank city with tear gas canisters, amid record low temperatures as a storm front moved South across the region, Ma’an reported Friday.

Israeli forces erected a checkpoint at the entrance of the village in the morning and declared it a closed military zone, a tactic used frequently to prevent the weekly march from taking place.

The closure prevented crews of the Palestinian Red Crescent from entering the village and providing necessary first aid to the injured during the march.

Media spokesman for the movement against the wall in Kafr Qaddum, Murad Shteiwi, said that the march “will not be hampered by weather or even the barricading of the village by the occupation forces,” and will instead persist until it achieves its objectives.

In 2004, the International Court of Justice called on Israel to stop construction of the separation wall within the occupied West Bank.

When completed, 85 percent of the wall will run inside the West Bank.

The internationally recognized Palestinian territories of which the West Bank and East Jerusalem form a part have been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.
