Zionist regime’s existence tied to savagery: Ayatollah Khatami

Tehran’s interim Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami says the disgraceful existence of the Zionist regime of Israel is tied to savagery. “The bloodthirsty and murderous Zionist regime has once again attacked Gaza … [because] ignominious existence of the usurper regime is tied to such savageries,” Ayatollah Khatami said. At least 25 Palestinians have been martyred in the new wave of Israeli regime attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip since November 14. At least 250 people have been injured so far. The senior religious scholar added that the popular resistance movement, Hamas, should be praised for its decisive response to Israel. “Presently, the resistance of Gazans has turned the day into dark night for the Zionist regime and Tel Aviv has become a ghost town,” the Iranian cleric noted. “That the US President [Barack Obama] said this [attack on the Gaza Strip] is the right of the Zionist regime is a wrong statement and this is why the people of Iran consider the slogan ‘death to America’ a form of prayer,” Ayatollah Khatami concluded.
