Thousands perform al-Fajr prayer at Al-Aqsa, Ibrahimi Mosques

Thousands of Palestinians, including families, managed to perform Friday Fajr (dawn) prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem despite the Israeli restrictions on their access to the site.

The Israeli occupation authorities prevented Palestinians from the West Bank to reach the Mosque with the exception of few hundreds.

The Israeli police forces also set up dozens of roadblocks, conducted extensive searches and checks on Palestinians and their ID cards, and prevented many of them from reaching the holy Islamic site.

For the tenth consecutive week, Palestinians perform Fajr prayers at Al-Aqsa in thousands in a popular campaign to confirm the Palestinians’ spiritual links to the holy site.

Meanwhile, thousands of Palestinians performed the dawn prayer in the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil.

Palestinian groups have earlier called for intensifying presence at the holy site in response to the Israeli systematic Judaization policy.

Hamas Movement had also earlier called for intensifying Palestinian presence at al-Aqsa Mosque this Friday.

The Movement urged the Palestinian people in Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Occupied Palestinian Territories to mobilize and attend the Fajr prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
