10 more bodies removed from Sewol

South Korea’s coast guard says its divers have pulled out 10 more bodies from the vessel which submerged last week with more than 470 passengers on board.
According to AFP, without providing further details about the new discovery, a coast guard official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said on Sunday “Another 10 bodies have just been retrieved. Now the death toll stands at 46.”
According to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency, eight of the dead bodies were male and two female.
Earlier, the South Korean coast guard said divers pulled out the first three dead bodies trapped inside the submerged ferry after they broke a window of the ship.
The 6,825-ton passenger vessel, dubbed Sewol, abruptly listed and then sank off the Jindo Island on April 16. The ship was carrying mostly high school students on a trip to a resort island when it capsized.
