13 Terrorists Killed in Blast at Ammunition Depot in Northwestern Syria

More than a dozen al-Qaeda terrorists were killed in an ammunition depot explosion in Northwestern Syria on Saturday.

A total of 13 terrorists of the so-called al-Nasr front, affiliated to the al-Qaeda, were killed and at least 50 others wounded in a blast at an ammunition depot in Saraqeb in Reef (outskirts of) Idlib.

Those wounded in the explosion were transferred to nearby hospitals in Turkey for treatment.

The Syrian security forces also repelled attacks of armed rebels on al-Tarema and al-Qaleh towns in Reef Idlib and killed at least 10 terrorists during heavy clashes on Saturday.

Earlier today, the Syrian army killed several armed rebels and destroyed a house belonging to the leader of a terrorist group in heavy clashes in Reef (outskirts of) Damascus, Eastern Syria.

During the clashes in several districts in Reef Damascus, the Syrian forces killed several gunmen and destroyed several hideouts of terrorist snipers as well as the residence of a notorious terrorist leader in Daria, near Damascus.

Meantime, in a terrorist attack on a Syrian police checkpoint, four terrorists were killed and two more were injured.

Terrorists have tried hard in the last several days to make Syrian cities unsafe for citizens, but the army has purged them from most neighborhoods and districts, killed tens of them and arrested many others.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against Syrian police forces and border guards being reported across the country.

Hundreds of people, including members of the security forces, have been killed, when some protest rallies turned into armed clashes.

The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad.
