Syrian Army to cutoff Turkish Army from southeast Aleppo: map

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is not planning on stopping their military operations after Deir Hafer; instead, they have set their sights on the Islamic State’s Aleppo headquarters at Al-Khafsa, which is located near the western bank of the Euphrates River.

Not only is Al-Khafsa strategic because it is the location of the terrorist group’s east Aleppo headquarters, but this village is also located near the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces’ front-lines.

If the Syrian Arab Army is successful in reaching Al-Khafsa, they will be able to cutoff the Turkish Army from expanding any further southeast towards some of Syria’s most fertile lands near the Euphrates River.

Recently, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told journalists during a press conference that his forces will continue their military operations in Syria after they seize the Islamic State stronghold of Al-Bab.

Erdogan’s comments and Turkey’s recent massacre of two dozen civilians in Al-Bab prompted the Syrian Foreign Ministry to issue a statement to the United Nations Security Council, demanding the Turkish Army leave Syria immediately.
