Six members of Hezbollah, Amal martyred in south Lebanon in Israeli strikes

Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance group and Amal movement have announced that six of their members were killed in Israeli strikes in the country’s south.

In separate statements on Friday, Amal movement mourned four of its members, saying “They were martyred while they were fulfilling their … duty of defending Lebanon.”

According to the movement, the members were killed in a strike on a home in the village of Qantara in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah also announced that two of its fighters were killed in southern Lebanon.

The resistance group said the fighters “rose as martyrs on the road to Al-Quds.”

Hezbollah and Israel have been trading near daily cross-border fire since the occupying regime waged a deadly war on Gaza on October 7.

On Wednesday, 10 civilians were killed in Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon. In response, Lebanon’s permanent mission to the United Nations filed a formal complaint before the UN Security Council.

Addressing the rotating President of the Security Council Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, the mission noted that the strikes against civilians amount to “war crime”.
