Pakistani Muslims slam Puppet Pakistani Regime peace talks with terrorists

Nawaz Sharif
Muslims in Pakistan have condemned the peace talks between the government and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Press TV reports.

On Friday, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen organized a demonstration in the port city of Karachi in protest against the talks.

Demonstrators said the negotiations are doomed to failure and only buy more time for the militants to stage attacks on Muslims across Pakistan.

Ali Hussain, a member of the organization, told Press TV that the administration of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is giving the militants “another chance to kill innocent civilians.”

Hussain called on the Pakistani government to “use full force against these extremist elements and to root out this meanness from Pakistan.”

Muslims in Pakistan say the government must take decisive action against forces involved in the targeted killings. They also accuse Islamabad of failing to provide security for the Muslim community.

The country’s Islamic leaders have also called on the government to establish a judicial commission to investigate the bloodshed.

About 400 Muslims, including many professors, doctors and schoolchildren, were slain in 2013 in Pakistan, Human Rights Watch says.

Dozens have also been killed since the beginning of 2014, according to the rights group.

The first round of peace talks between the militants and the Pakistani government began in Islamabad on February 6.

Many in Pakistan doubt that talking to a militant group that carries out almost daily attacks will produce results.

On Friday, Maulana Abdul Aziz, who is a TTP negotiator in the talks, expressed reservations to negotiate under the existing constitution.
