A Syrian soldier in an interview with Al-Alam TV’s correspondent said: “The Syrian army regained the control of some areas of the strategic hills in the Southern Aleppo; army’s operation in Aleppo – Damascus route will continue.”

The Syrian army could also take several hills and villages in Aleppo that Khan Tuman, Tel Al-Shugheib, Al Vadihi and Tel Adhan were included among these axes. Syrian and Russian airstrikes at the same time led to the progress of army ground forces in near villages.

Strategically, Syrian army’s control on strategic hills will cut off a key supply route of militants and will be a beginning for the military operations in Syria’s Aleppo and Damascus.

According to Al-Alam correspondent in Syria Rabei Kalavandi, “This attack is what the citizens of Aleppo were long awaited for it and in the first day of operation, Syrian army was able to take over several villages, farms and strategic hills in Southern Aleppo. The Syrian army will continue its clean-up operations to regain the remaining parts of the country.”
