ISAF confirms Australian occupation forces killed two kids in Afghanistan

US-led occupation forces (ISAF) has confirmed that the US-led Australian forces have killed two Afghan children in the country’s central province of Uruzgan.

On Saturday, ISAF took responsibility for the deaths of two Afghan children during an operation in Shahid-e Hasas District in Uruzgan Province.

“I offer my personal apology and condolences to the family of the boys who were killed,” said General Joseph Dunford, commander of ISAF.

“I am committed to ensuring we do the right thing for the families of those we harmed, as well as for the community in which they lived. We take full responsibility for this tragedy,” he added.

Afghan police told Press TV that two young Afghan boys were killed in an attack conducted by US-led Australian forces in Uruzgan Province.

Many civilians have lost their lives in US-led operations in various parts of Afghanistan over the past months, with Afghans becoming increasingly outraged at the seemingly endless number of the deadly assaults.

The issue of civilian casualties in Afghanistan is highly sensitive and has been a major source of friction between President Hamid Karzai and the United States.

Washington claims that its airstrikes target militants, but local sources say civilians have been the main victims of these attacks.
