World disarmament should happen

IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said disarmament should happen in the world “but in a way other than what we have witnessed in the past six decades.”

The President made the remarks in a ceremony to mark National Day of Nuclear Technology held in Milad Tower conference hall in Tehran Friday.

President Ahmadinejad urged independent governments, nations and figures to form a new group and make a world determination for disarmament.

President Ahmadinejad said America has claimed that it has cut some 600 nuclear weapons, but it lets no neutral group to confirm or supervise the job.

He criticized Washington for reporting itself and then expecting all to accept its claims.

The Iranian President went on to say that Tehran is ready for interaction, dialog and cooperation on the nuclear issue but if someone sitting in a glassy palace thinks that by showing off arms he could damage the will of the Iranian nation, he is wrong.

“All of them know that if any hand stretches towards Iran, it will be cut,” he continued.

President Ahmadinejad added Tehran will host a meeting on disarmament on mid April and participants are due to find a correct, logical, effective and independent way for nuclear disarmament.
