NAM offers guide to weathering crises

images (62)Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the organization of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) provides a roadmap for weathering crises and insecurities.
In a meeting with the newly appointed ambassador of Nepal to Iran, Bharat Raj Paudyal, on Saturday, Ahmadinejad said NAM provides a roadmap to achieve a justice-based and peaceful society.

In August 2012, Iran assumed the rotating presidency of NAM for a three-year term during the movement’s 16th summit in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Describing ties between Iran and Nepal as deep and historic, Ahmadinejad called for the expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Nepali envoy, for his part, said his country attaches great importance to bilateral cooperation and relations with Iran.

Referring to the success of the 16th summit of NAM in Iran’s capital, Tehran, the Nepali official described as significance Iran’s role in regional and international disputes particularly in the NAM organization.

NAM, an international organization with 120 member states, is considered as not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. It represents nearly two-thirds of the UN members.

In another meeting with the new Australian ambassador to Iran, Paul Foley, Ahmadinejad praised the bilateral relations between the two countries, calling for expansion of bilateral cooperation.
