MP Wounded, Daughter Killed in Afghanistan’s Ghazni Attack
A female lawmaker was injured and her daughter was killed on Wednesday when suspected insurgents opened fire at their vehicle on a highway in the Southern Ghazni province.
Ghazni deputy governor Mohammad Ali Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News, the upper house member, Rooh Gul, was traveling with family in a car on the Herat-Kabul highway when she came under attack in an area situated between the Gilan and Maqur districts.
Gul’s daughter and a security guard were killed and Gul and her husband sustained injuries in the gun attack that occurred around 9 a.m.
Ahmadi said that Gul, who represents Western Farah province in the Meshrano Jirga, and her husband were taken to a health facility of foreign forces in Gilan in critical condition.
