Iran welcomes talks with EU

Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has met with Leader of the Socialist Group in the European Parliament Martin Schulz in Brussels.

In the meeting on Tuesday, the top Iranian diplomat touched upon key regional and international issues, namely Iraq and Afghanistan.

To settle international crises requires cooperation by all nations, Mottaki underlined.

He welcomed ‘open and constructive’ negotiations between Iran and the EU.

Larijani also invited Schulz to visit Iran to continue talks, an idea embraced by the European side.

Schulz, in turn, reaffirmed that exchanging views between Iran and Europe could be very constructive.
