Tehran’s interim Friday prayers leader has described the Iranian nation’s defense and resistance during the eight-year Iraqi imposed war against the Islamic Republic as of having great identity in the history of humanity.

According to IRIB World Service, addressing the Friday prayers worshippers, Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani stated that “Defense has several different forms in the world which are often used for protecting the borders, while Iran’s the sacred defense was a move toward Islam and God”, adding,” In this sacred defense, the brave Iranian youth struggled for preserving independence, protecting the borders and upholding the sacred Islamic Republic system’s honor.”
The Ayatollah further referred to the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s firm and logical speech at the 68th UN General Assembly meeting in New York as what the oppressed Iranian nation wanted and said, “The arrogant powers particularly the United States have done oppressive acts against Iranian nation during the past 35 years.”
The Friday prayers leader also pointed to the US President Barack Obama’s speech at the UN General Assembly meeting in which he had said, “Washington does not intend to bring down the Islamic Republic of Iran system” as ranting and said: “The Islamic system that has Islamic identity, can’t be brought down.”
