11 people injured in subway explosion in S.Korea: officials

South Korean officials said eleven people were injured Monday after a transformer exploded on a subway train in Gunpo in south of Seoul.

According to Yonhap South Korean News Agency, the transformer, installed on the roof of the sixth car of the train, exploded around 6:56 p.m. as the train entered Geumjeong Station on Subway Line 4, causing the insulator next to it to also explode, officials of the train’s operator KORAIL said.
