6 Children Killed in Accident, Stampede at Chinese Primary School
Six children were killed and about two dozen injured in an accident and stampede at a primary school in southwestern China on Friday, authorities and reports said.
The Yunnan Information Daily reported that the incident occurred when some children punched two three-meter [nearly 10 feet] tall mattresses causing them to fall on top of other children.
In the aftermath, children rushed down a stairway, causing some to fall and be trampled, it added.
The incident occurred at Kunming’s Mingtong Primary School, authorities and reports said.
